My goal for Permission to Rise Podcast is to create a foundation for this platform. In the last episode, I talked about my WHY. I talked about how I struggled in the past to create a foundation for my previous businesses. So I decided to create a better foundation for this podcast by narrowing down a few key components. I created five pillars for permission to Rise and I’d like to take a moment to break them down. I like to think of these pillars as the foundation of my journey so far. Each of them blends well together, like five huge pieces of a puzzle that build the foundation for taking control of your life and giving yourself permission to rise into the woman you are.
I know in the beginning I will have many personal stories and I’ll walk you through much of my life. Some stories I probably don’t need to share with you! However, I feel inclined to do so because I believe that it gives you more transparency and these stories may help you be able to better understand yourself. It’s truly the moments where I’ve dug deep that have allowed me to reshape my own foundation for my identity. I believe these five pillars have been instrumental in my life.
The five pillars are:
- Empowerment
- Authenticity
- Healing
- Voice
- Self-Trust
Have a listen for their breakdown!

Hey, it's Chelsea, and welcome to Permission to Rise, a podcast for women ready to find their voice, embrace healing, and rise into their fullest potential. If you're ready to stop shrinking and start showing up for your life, this podcast is your permission to rise. In the last episode, I talked about my why. I talked about how I struggled in the past to create a foundation for my previous businesses. So I decided to create a better foundation for this podcast by narrowing down a few key components. I created five pillars for permission to rise, and I'd like to take a moment to break them down. I like to think of these pillars as the foundation of my journey so far. Each of them blends well together, like five huge pieces of a puzzle that build the foundation for taking control of your life and giving yourself permission to rise into the woman you are. I'm going to read the definition I set for each pillar and then break it down a little. Number one, empowerment. This space allows express permission for women to reclaim your power after seasons of doubt, silence, or survival. Through personal stories and honest conversations, you'll be reminded that your voice matters, that your voice, your needs, and your dreams deserve space. Now, empowerment like motivation can be quite fleeting at times. However, this pillar is core to the permission aspect of this podcast. Granting yourself the power to do something, be something, have something is key to changing your life. I'm going to spend quite a bit of time, especially in the beginning, sharing my story, discussing 30 plus years of my life with open and sometimes blunt and blatant honesty. I wanted to do this for a long time, but I knew that the platform I had created with my boutique was not quite the place for this. I especially want to take you through my healing journey the last six years. My hope is that by being open and raw, you'll feel empowered to grant yourself the very same permission to grow, to break free from your limitations and create space for yourself. I've met so many women over the last several years who have lived their lives for everyone else. Some are finding themselves on their own and wanting to reclaim their identity, and others are struggling to figure out what it means to create space for themselves while also serving others. Number two, authenticity. Permission to rise stands for living unapologetically, finding the courage to stop performing and start living as your true self. It's releasing expectations, breaking free from who you were told to be, and unapologetically owning who you are becoming. I want to highlight two words from this pillar. Stop performing. I believe it's so easy to be wrapped up in the phrase, fake it till you make it, or walking in the room as if you own the place. It's more than just pretending those things are true. It's finding a way to be real with yourself, to express your emotions rather than repressing them, and to enter a room to the best of your current ability. It's a very heavy mask to wear when you fake your feelings. As someone who's been accused of rusting bitch face, more often than not, I'm not encouraging you to fully express your emotions. Obviously, there are moments in our life where we should find a way to stay positive and engaged. I think it's when we wear the mask 24-7 that we embody a version of ourselves that doesn't know how to engage authentically. There are moments of my life where I was told how to be, how to walk and talk and act. I'll be sharing this story later. In a sense, I wasn't allowed to be myself without repercussions. I put on a mask and didn't always have a safe space to take it off. What I have been loving lately are the phrases encouraging you to do it scared, do it broke, do it sad, show up even when things get hard, because it won't always be easy. You'll never feel like getting up early and doing the workout. If you decide to go the easy route, you'll never change. You'll never grow. If I'm being authentic and honest, elevating my life has been very uncomfortable. I outgrew a lot of things and people and places. It's been a very lonely process. And for a woman who has spent a lot of her life feeling alone, it can be downright terrifying to walk away from what is no longer serving you. It feels like I'm leaving so many people behind. That's when I have to remind myself that the only person I'm leaving in the past is the part of me that no longer exists, the part of myself that I've outgrown. Number three, healing. Healing is not a destination, it's a daily decision. The rise focuses on forgiveness, emotional growth, and making space for restoration. Through reflection and lived experience, you'll learn how to heal in a way that allows you to move forward fully. Let's be clear. I'm not a teacher. I'm not a therapist, so it's hard for me to say that you'll quote unquote learn how to heal. There's no checklist or simple steps to take. However, I truly believe that we do learn something when we listen to others, understand their story, and use it to reflect on our own feelings and experiences. Healing for me these last six years has been a roller coaster ride. It's been an up and down experience, but one in which the lows aren't as low. I don't hit the ground as hard as I used to. I think it's also important to note that you can heal in the middle of your current life. You don't need a new day, a new week, a new life. You don't need to be fully healed to be loved, wanted, or worthy. Each day that you wake up, face yourself in the mirror, or don't, if you haven't had the heart to look at yourself, there's an opportunity for you to release a little more of the weight you're holding on to. Healing is never a linear line. So if you feel like you're all over the place, you're not alone, and it's totally normal. Number four, voice. Finding your voice is at the heart of this podcast. Whether you've been silenced by fear, doubt, or past experiences, this space encourages you to speak, choose, and live in alignment with who you truly are. I had the hardest time finding my voice. I was the quiet kid in the classroom, loud at home, but lowered the volume anytime I joined a crowd. When you're afraid to rock the boat, it's easy to silence yourself. You don't have to be loud to live in alignment. You just need to be yourself. I'm using this podcast to voice all sorts of things from my past, present, and future. It's going to be messy, raw, and real. I'm giving myself permission to take control of my story, share it publicly in a way that I never have before, and use my voice to encourage other women to do the same. I'm not saying that you have to air all your dirty laundry. Believe me, I won't be doing that. But sometimes using your voice is simply asking for something you want, something you need. Most of all, I'm excited to see where this podcast takes me because it's my goal to invite other ordinary, everyday women to speak in this space with me, to share a story, answer some questions, and share insight on how they're giving themselves permission to rise. Or engage in some hot seat coaching. We'll see where it goes. Last, but definitely not least, number five, self-trust. Rising requires trust in yourself, your intuition, and your timing. Living a fully unapologetic life requires showing up consistently, choosing yourself daily, and building the confidence to move forward authentically and meaningfully. Wow. This is the hardest pillar. Learning how to lean into your gut instinct, intuition, and know what naturally feels best for you takes so much practice. I know that for me, this pillar took me learning how to truly be comfortable with myself, knowing how to sit with myself whether I'm alone, in a crowd, or around people I love. I came to realize that I've always had good instincts, but I've let others decide for me or be a voice of reason in my head. I always look back and think, wow, how different would my life be had I just gone with my gut this whole time? Consistency is key. Results aren't always immediate, but when you discover true change, a true shift in who you are as a result of your discipline and daily choices, you'll see a whole new world that exists for you. That space is elevation, it's growth, it's healing, all the amazing things that build when you choose you. What a launch pad! I hope you've enjoyed these few episodes so far. They've been a bit more organized and scripted than some of the episodes to come. I also apologize in advance for any small background noises that occur. I live in the concrete jungle and haven't built myself a sound barrier box yet. How's that for being authentic and choosing performance over perfection? Be sure to follow and subscribe for more and join me on social media. I want to hear from you. Tell me which of the pillars resonates with you the most and which one you're excited to work on this year.
